4 Day Overberg Route 1057km - Tar and Gravel on
all days
Explore
the colorful Overberg region via the back roads,
farmlands and settlements en route to Cape Agulhas
the southern most tip of Africa. During (August
- September) its whale season & sightings are
very common.

Our
first Overnight stop is in the picturesque De Hoop
Nature Reserve, then make our way along the gravel
roads through many small settlements up the coast
to Mossel Bay. We cross Gondwana Game Reserve where
sighting of Zebra, Eland, Elephant and if we lucky
the small pride of Lions.
We spend the second night in the Attequaskloof Mountain
Range before tracking back along the Historical
Attaquaskloof and Gysmanshoek Pass Ox Wagon Trails
and R62 for the last night. The final day takes
us through the Overberg winelands regions of Mcgregor,
Robertson, Greyton Theewaterskloof, Van der Stels
Pass and Somerset West.

Motorcycle Hire (Yamaha XT660Z Tenere, with Panniers)
price excludes drinks, evening meals, lunches and
Fuel.
Padded motorcycle jackets and full face helmets
are available at an extra cost or R60 per day per
item.
Previous motorcycle experience is essential, knowledge
of gravel riding not essential, but is preferable.
What to Bring:
- Overnight sleeping cloths, change of riding gear...
- Toiletries, in summer (swimming costume)
- Camera, batteries, cell phone charger
- Motorcycle riding boots or good hiking boot with
ankle support
- Warm clothing for the evening campfire
- Your Motorcycle Licence
- Your own full face helmet and jacket - if not
renting
- Riding gloves
- Cash for fuel, lunches, braai food, drinks, permits...etc

We start at 09h00 at
Nature House, Elgin Grabouw Country Club in
Grabouw. Nature House, Elgin Grabouw Country
Club is roughly 1 hour from Cape Town. After
a briefing and map discussion we set off to
circumnavigate the mountain ranges in the
area passing various habitats and up to 1050
m.

The green mountain
eco route is quite unique and boasts some
of the rarest plants in the Cape floral kingdom.
The route ravels through four passes and climate
zones offering an ideal photographic opportunity.
This is a tour of a lifetime to view sights
rarely seen by most. You will have the opportunity
to ride though some wine farms in the valley
and taste en route, arriving early evening
at our guest accommodation.

most scenic mountain passes such as Bainskloof
Pass, Blinkberg and Grootrivier pass. We overnight
